Before going further, let’s discuss in brief about surrogacy and its types.
What Is Surrogacy?
Surrogacy is an arrangement, often supported by a legal agreement, whereby a woman (the surrogate mother) agrees to bear a child for another person or persons, who will become the child’s parent(s) after birth. Source Of Information– Wikipedia
It can be done for a multiple of reasons, often due to the medical incapacity of one or both the partners.
In traditional surrogacy, it is usually the father’s sperm that is implanted inside the surrogate mother. The surrogate’s egg is used to create the embryo of the child she is going to carry (either through intrauterine insemination or in vitro fertilization.)
In gestational surrogacy, the intended parents create an embryo using their own egg and sperm or using donated egg or sperm. Then, the resulting embryo is placed inside the womb of the surrogate mother.
