Also, she is a well-known face in the world of fashion and the owner of the clothing line Rheson alongside her sister Sonam Kapoor. It is ‘Ketogenic Diet Plan’ that has helped her in losing all the extra weight. Recently on Instagram, with her nutritionist, Karishma Boolani, Rhea revealed everything about her diet plan.

The keto diet is a high-fat, moderate protein, and very low-carb way of eating that induces a state of ketosis (a metabolic process that forces your body to burn fat for energy instead of glucose). It is not a plan but a lifestyle, which helps in transforming the way you eat. We generally think that this popular diet seems to be appealing to meat eaters only. For vegetarians, it is quite a challenge to follow. But Karishma Boolani cleared this confusion and said, “the best way to follow Keto is actually by having a high-fat good vegetarian diet. Meat is only supposed to be a condiment, so load up on vegetables, dairy, nuts, and seeds. One just needs to identify the carbs they are eating. If the food item is 100 grams in weight and has 100 grams of carbs, you must avoid it. But if you are eating spinach, it has 1 gram of carbs per 100 grams, making it an ideal vegetable. So it is important to focus on foods that are high in nutrition and low in carbs.”

She further called out people who count calories & grams and said- “Human body is not a computer and does not work by numbers that go in and are burned. So we should not obsess over the numbers.” Talking about what is more important diet or workout, Karishma revealed, “It is primarily diet that determines how much weight you will lose. However, it is an exercise that helps your overall health. So they both are somewhere extremely important. Also, concentrate more on fat loss than weight loss as it is more important because the weight that we are carrying is also essential for our body.”

Rhea, 34, who follows these rules of her dietitian further shared what she puts on her plate (without compromising on her palate).

BREAKFAST

  • Egg fried in butter
  • Avocado
  • Sausages  OR
  • A big bowl of salad with goat’s cheese
  • Nuts  OR
  • A bowl of yogurt with nuts, seeds & blueberries

LUNCH

She eats all kinds of vegetables and makes sure to include palak in some form every day. The munch for lunch includes-

  • Almond roti OR Coconut naan
  • Lots of chicken & sabzi

DINNER

She eats almost everything when she is out, except rice and noodles. “I don’t mind if it is fried a little bit, coated or uncoated. I go into depression if I can’t eat the stuff I like,” said Rhea Kapoor. She added that she can’t stop living in an attempt to lose weight.

At home, she prefers to have-

  • Cauli-rice with some curry

Rhea has eliminated sugar and all grains from her diet but has reintroduced a little rice as the diet was quite difficult to sustain otherwise. “The most important thing is that I can drink! I need my drink. My life is too stressful without my martini and malt with soda. I can’t punish myself. That’s not my vibe,” added Rhea Kapoor.
