Sanjay Dutt Diagnosed With Lung Cancer | Took Break From Work

Renowned Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has reportedly been diagnosed with stage-3 lung cancer. The 61-year-old thespian was taken to Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital on August 8 after he complained about breathlessness and chest discomfort. He was also tested for COVID-19 which has difficulty in breathing as one of the symptoms. Thankfully, it came out to be negative! Dutt announced the same in a tweet and was discharged from the hospital on August 10.

Sanjay Dutt Has Lung Cancer

After being discharged, he tweeted again that he will be taking a break from work to receive medical treatment. He asked his well-wishers not to worry or speculate about his health, adding that he will be back. He wrote, “Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!”

Later in the night, film trade analyst and journalist Komal Nahta tweeted that Dutt has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Reports suggest that he will be taken to the US for treatment. He tweeted, “Sanjay Dutt diagnosed with lung cancer. Let’s pray for his speedy recovery.”

A close friend of the actor revealed that the actor is devastated and is worried about his little children who are currently in Dubai with mom Maanayata Dutt. The friend further stated that cancer is curable but needs immediate and rigorous treatment. Hence, the actor will leave for the US for the treatment.

The news of Sanjay Dutt being diagnosed with lung cancer has shocked the Bollywood industry and fans alike. While wishes are pouring in from friends, industry colleagues and fans, Dutt’s wife Maanayata has issued a statement.

“I thank everyone who has expressed their well wishes for Sanju’s speedy recovery. We need all the strength and prayers to overcome this phase.There is a lot that the family has gone through in the past years but I am confident, this too shall pass. However, it is my heartfelt request to all Sanju’s fans to not fall prey to speculations and unwarranted rumours, but to just help us with their ongoing love, warmth and support. Sanju has always been a fighter, and so has our family. God has yet again chosen to test us to overcome the challenges ahead. All we seek is your prayers and blessing, and we know we will emerge as winners on the other side, as we always have. Let us use this opportunity to spread light and positivity”, the statement reads.
