Even in Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee with Karan, she opened up without shying away and spoke about her struggle with the hormonal disorder, which made it difficult for her to lose weight.

Sara Ali Khan Weight Loss DIET

Sara was always a chubby girl, but after going to the Columbia for studies, she gained a lot of weight which reached up to 96 kgs. Actually, for the first two years of her college, she survived on junk food, especially pizza. It was her ambition to act in Bollywood that motivated her to look for healthier options and she started snacking on protein bars and salads instead of all junk.

To make her Bollywood dream come true, Sara started eating home-cooked food and that too at regular intervals of time. “I never starve myself to achieve my fitness goals. I include plenty of fiber-rich foods in my diet and make sure to begin my day with a glass of warm lemon water,” said the beautiful budding star. Let’s have a look at her usual meal plan.

Breakfast: She prefers having bread toast with egg whites and sometimes idlis.
Lunch: In lunch, she includes chapatis, dal, vegetables with salad. She loves eating fruits half an hour before lunch.
Snacks: For her evening snack, she eats a bowl of upma (savory vegetable semolina) which keeps her feeling full and energized.
Dinner: Reportedly, she prefers having a simple, light dinner which includes 2 chapatis with green veggies.
Pre-Workout Snack: Muesli or oats with fruits
Post-Workout Snack: Tofu, salad or legumes and a Protein shake.

WORKOUT

“To make my workout less monotonous, I always try to indulge in a mixed form of exercises. This prevents me from getting bored of the same routine and I enjoy every bit of it,” said Sara.

GYMMING

She hits the gym on a regular basis. At the gym, she loves to indulge in cardio exercises (treadmill, cycling, jumping etc.) which increase heart rate and accelerate weight loss process. On Karan Johar’s show, she revealed that she used to run on the treadmill listening to Bollywood songs. Besides this, push-ups, lunges, squats, crunches, and weight lifting are also part of her workout routine.

PILATES

Apart from hitting the gym, the actress has been spotted numerous times doing the very famous Pilates workout. Not only Sara Ali Khan but other Bollywood celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, Malaika Arora and Amrita Rao also swears by Pilates as part of their workout. Sara trains under pilates instructor, Namrata Purohit who is a well-known celebrity trainer and also happens to be the Pilates instructor of Kareena Kapoor, her step-mom.

Sara does regular pilates which tones up the body and improves the overall flexibility and mobility in the body.

BOOT CAMP TRAINING

The Simmba actress enjoys her boot camp workouts too. Boot camp training includes a series of calisthenics, like pushups, lunges, and squats, with running, jumps and other high-intensity aerobic movements. The main idea of a fitness boot camp is to give a full-body workout that burns more calories in lesser time.

Sara undergoes this training under the guidance of Cindy Jourdain, who is also known to be the trainer of Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Kapoor.

Sara also goes for her yoga and dance classes when she is on a leave from her workout routine.
